Archeology

The Year Book contains three major sections: Research Problems, Projects and reviews. Presented are studies on leopards and snow leopards in the shadow of the cave lion and other cats in the prehistoric rock art works, the role of environment for the origin of the earliest stone architecture in Bulgaria, new facts for the early Neolithic period in North-Western Bulgaria, Neolithic furnaces and fireplaces, the early Bronze Age in the Upper Thracian Lowland, the pictorial language of the myth, pre-Roman coins, the donjon towers, Harris’ matrixes. The projects deal with prehistoric mammals in the rock art works of Eurasia, the settlement tumulus called Junatzite (the Heroes), the Mihalich castle, the newly discovered Thracian center within the Kingdom of Sevt, archeological research and interpretation of two dolmens on the land of Zaberovo Village. Reviews present the Master’s Programs in Prehistory, Archeology of Antiquity, Medieval Culture at the New Bulgarian University.
