Assistant Professor Ekaterina Tsvetanova-Georgieva, Ph.D., is a full-time lecturer at the Administration and Management Department of the New Bulgarian University. She completed her secondary education in 2005 in Sofia in a class with a profile of Mathematics and Informatics. In July 2010, she graduated with honors from the College of "Management, Trade and Marketing" with a specialization in "Marketing". In 2013, she graduated with honors from the Master's program "International Business" at NBU. She also studied in the Master's program "Statistics and Financial Econometrics" at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". In 2018, she obtained a Doctoral degree in "Business Administration" with a dissertation on the topic: "Adapting the Altman model for assessing the risk of company bankruptcy for the Bulgarian conditions".

 

Dr. Tsvetanova-Georgieva's professional path from 2013 to 2018 includes Macroeconomic analyst and consultant in a Management consulting company. Administratively, she passed through various positions at NBU. Since 2017, she has been a program consultant for one of the largest Bachelor programs "Business Management and Entrepreneurship". From July 2021, she is the Director of the School of Professional and Continuing Education (UPPO) at NBU, where she manages the organization of public lectures, short-term training, professional qualifications, workshops, master and professional classes and other forms of training, other than the academic activity of NBU. From July 2024 she is the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education of the NBU.

 

Dr. Tsvetanova-Georgieva's scientific interests are related to the modeling of economic processes, risk management, credit risk assessment, etc. As an expert, she takes part in a number of projects related to the assessment of assets in the Bulgarian banking sector, the introduction of risk management systems, the construction of credit risk assessment models. She has interests in the field of practical application of quantitative methods in the agricultural sector.
