HABILITATION THESIS
Visibility Beyond the Visible. The Artistic Discourse of American
    Transcendentalism.

          - The habilitation thesis deals with the poetics of American
Transcendentalism. It takes it for granted that the major New England
transcendentalists were of utmost literary significance and focuses on their
extremely rich and many-sided artistic discourse. The dissertation's
inevitable European perspective only enhances its preoccupation with the
Americanness of the movement, thus making it emphasize, in all aspects of
its concern, the uniqueness of the interrelation between place sense and
artistry that the transcendentalists' writings offer.

DISSERTATION
Similarities in Divergences. Realistic Narrative Characteristics in
the Eighteenth-Century British Novel and Late Nineteenth-Century
    Bulgarian Fiction.

          - The dissertation studies the narrative correspondences
between the 18th-Century British Novel and late 19th-Century
Bulgarian Fiction, such as point of view (the first-person
narrative, the omniscient author, the self-conscious narrator),
        character drawing, the implied reader.
