Current Projects
Except for our new baby (who's taking up unbelievable
amounts of time), here's a list of things I currently have on the drawing board:
- MoStaCon: an interface to experiment design, data formatting and statistics - the implementation of the current topic of my Master's Thesis; version alpha 0.21 is in the works now, about to be completely rewritten. That means it's not usable yet :) It may work in Internet Explorer on IBM-compatibles, but it's still VERY alpha. Also, this is hosted on a different site, because of strange problems with the NBU web server... :(
- MonDoc: an integrated system for writing web-based, cognitively accessible documents (papers, documentation, help desks, interactive fiction, etc.);
- MneMonic: my attempt to model concept learning and usage; stuck in between creating too large, very redundant KBs and not doing token recognition correctly :(; I sure hope this is not its epitaph.
- HYMNS: a modular Web Design tool, written in JavaScript and perl; that is, if you have a ISAPI-compatible web server (I use Xitami: it's FREE), you can use any web browser as a web area editor;
- WARPe: a MUD/RPG/adventure engine and tools for dungeon creation: I hope to use it as a more ecologically valid environment for my future decision-making experiments;
- Mail2Txt: small hack-of-a-script to convert HTML form output to readable email messages;
- FonTool: tool to use small images as setup-independent font for foreign language web areas; I wrote it to complement the Romanian font I created (drawn? painted? whipped up?); I guess it will end up as a module in HYMNS;
- Office System: when I left Studio VISIA, I was working on a usable web database-based office/project management tool; I didn't give up yet, all I need is some time :)
- MoCaSyn: since I can't find a good backup tool, I started writing my own.
- MonDis: BNF semantics interpreter to automate complex recursive descriptions of syntax and actions (one of the predecessors of MneMonic and HYMNS)

My opinion is that information is supposed to be free. My work is either research
or personal projects, so I provide it free of charge. I keep the copyright,
though, so anyone who's using any of my tools is kindly asked to click here
to tell me about it, and to make a visible reference to these pages somewhere
in their work.
