Postdoctoral fellowship: University of Pennsylvania, (Supervisor Prof. J. Nachmias)
PhD: I.P. Pavlov's Institute of Physiology, St. Petersburg, (Supervisor Prof.
V.D.Glezer)
1968-1970: Ph.D. Thesis: Contrast sensitivity near borders.
M.D. Higher Institute of Medicine, Sofia Bulgaria, 1953 - 1959, M.D.
Position
Professor of Neurophysiology
Research Interests
Human vision: Spatio-temporal characteristics of the normal and abnormal vision
(selective damage of the magno- parvo- or conio-cellular pathway). Spatio-temporal
characteristics of isolated photoreceptor pathways, especially the pathways
with input from the short-wavelength cones. Experimental study of these characteristics
by system analysis in the frequency and real space-time domains. The experimental
methods include psychophysical measurements of sensitivity, reaction time and
recognition time as well as recording of visually evoked brain potentials.
